You walk around bland, unoptimized, copy+pasted, often untextured environments looking for the exit. There's no story, no vocals, no interaction, no gameplay, not even an interesting artistic statement. It's just random assets cobbled together with background music, which you walk around aimlessly for 10 minutes before the game ends. The options menu consists of two sliders. The performance is abyssmal. It's made in Unity Personal (which is often telling). At one point there's a long staircase whose steps you sometimes need to jump over because the developer didn't make every step the same height. Don't believe me? Here is a full walkthrough of the game. Avoid the game at all costs.. The music and visuals are nice, but that is just about it. The game was too short for its 8$ price, not to mention its sole achivement did not work. There are so many invisible walls that it is nearly impossible to tell where you are supposed to go, since everything looks open. Trying to walk into a field with strange stones? Too bad, invisible wall. Walking up a fight of stairs? Also a wall! I love walking simlators, but I did not enjoy Wanderlust at all.. I initially gave this game a positive review for the following reasons: 1) Nice soundtrack 2) Gorgeous scenery (albeit, even if sometimes pixelated and appears to have a low resolution) 3) I like surreal \/ abstract games and especially walking simulators 4) Took some amazing screenshots which I still enjoy looking at However, I left my positive review after one playthrough, and since then, I've had several more playthroughs... Upon playing it several more times, I've noticed many flaws. Many, many flaws. 1) The invisible walls of doom are EVERYWHERE, to an absurd degree. You WILL run into an invisible wall almost every few steps. I understand that these road-blocks are in place for a reason, but, the exploration aspect of this game is so severely limited due to constantly running into invisible barriers - moreso than in most other games that utilize them. 2) The one and only achievement appears to only be unlockable by using Steam Achievement Manager. Some of you may argue that it's stupid to collect achievements, but, some of us like doing it as a hobby. In my case, I genuinely thought that the achievement was on a level (I was thinking on the second level because it's like a labyrinth, with a lot of areas to explore) and I spent 10 playthroughs looking for it. Not just for the achievement, but, because I thought that maybe I overlooked something crucial in the game. If I couldn't find the achievement, what if I missed a secret level? Or something important? So, this caused me to re-play the game in search of something... that was never even there, and requires SAM to unlock, it appears. 3) I came to the realization that the game is only 10 minutes long or so, and, once I got over the initial glamor of the game, which had lots of sparkly visuals, I realized that... there isn't much to do. There isn't much to explore, the exploration aspect is VERY limited due to invisible walls everywhere, as I said, and the level quality is extremely inconsistent. Some levels look very polished and clean, while others have extremely pixelated backdrops and bad quality JPEG looking backgrounds. Some levels also appear to be so unrefined. In the level with the giant staircase, for example, so many textures looked so raw and unpolished. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, especially the more I played it.. This game let me just sit back and relax. Explore simple but beautiful vaporwave realms. I enjoyed escaping my day and listening to the music while walking around taking screenshots for my desktop background collection.. words cannot describe how disapointed I am with this game, because believe it or not I actually had high hopes for this game, thinking that Eternity Studios would learn from their mistakes and boy was I wrong because of stepping forward, they decided to reverse long jump ala Mario 64 into space because everything they have done here is so much worse Gameplay Pretty much the same as Eternity Studio's other game Dream Dealer except it feels like you move slower and your character takes this annoying extra step after you let go of WAS or D, making climbing the only obstical in the game very diffacult, because not only is it poorly constructed, but combined with the wonky new controls and it becomes a chore rather than a fun or interesting expirence L e n g t h This game is short, even when stopping to admire the A e s t h e t i c s I got through this game in about 8 minutes tops, taking pictures of anything I can use to decorate my profile with and trying not to hurl in the one or two rooms that game me motion sickness, which reminds me Grapics and wouldn't you believe it, they got worse too, going from semi-orignal textures to assets ripped from different sites or games and then making them so blury that you would think that your lenses are clouded and you need to consult an eye doctor before going completely blind END This game is too short, too expensive, and hurts peoples eyes, just like my\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665So, you know, avoid this game like the plague unless it goes on sale for like 1.99 or lower and you really want some cool screenshots for your profile. First, the menu just doesn't work, I tried lowering the volume for both music and fx and it just doesn't do anything. Second, if I hit escape to get rid of the menu, the menu cursor will show up next to the game cursor so now I have 2. I have to open the menu again and click Resume. If Esc opens the menu, Esc should also close the menu. Third, as the game was over and I tried to quit, I had no cursor to press the Quit button. Alt tabbing fixed that... On top of that, why isn't this still in beta? There's better ways to enclose the player other than hundreds of invisible walls, and it's not like the intended path is so obvious, even a non wandering person will hit a couple of the invis walls. Also, floating stuff all around? Really? Not only that, but copy plastered a bunch of times, too. And this costs money? Glad I got it on sale. And the fps♥♥♥♥♥♥in some maps is WORSE than in games built on 15yr old engines. Optimization, anyone? Oh, and I can jump in some maps, not in others, walking adds an extra step every time which made climbing that staircase kind of a not so pleasant experience, on top of having to jump some of the stairs, cus even tho all steps LOOK the same, they're not. Why? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fix ALL that, maybe add better transitioning instead of the 'touch this trigger to get teleoprted to next map', and then you can start charging people for this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cool concept, disappointing execution.. So, the screenshots, the trailer seemed promising and I was very glad to buy this game in a bundle cheap as f4k. 7gb for 20 minutes gameplay? Ok why not. 10-20 fps on 7/10 locations on the lowest graphics? Yep why not. Music and few butiful locations save situation a little bit, but if I'd have bought this on steam I'd get a refund, overpriced like 5-6 times heh. Wanderlust. It is a first person walking simulator game, you walk through different sceneries of backgrounds, like different biomes of places. Beautiful graphics and the music selection suited the different places that was shown. Playing this made me calm and relaxed looking at the beautiful scenes. However this game is extremely short for $7.99. I'd say it's overpriced for what it is, but you have you admire the work and ethic that was shown right in the screenshots and gameplay.. Really enjoyed the different art styles each of the different levels that I played. Only thing I would change is at least let us know what to look for in some way like maybe song pace picking up when you are going in the right direction? That's probably really complicatated and too much to ask for though. Really did enjoy wandering aimlessly through it to a great soundtrack!
